Celebrating Tall Women Run Businesses: Inclusive and Sustainable Fashion by Eve Copper

I love connecting with like-minded souls, even more so when they are powerful tall women. Today, my guest on the blog is Eve Jones. She runs a small clothing company in Devon, UK, named Eve Copper. Admittedly, it is not aimed at tall people, however the owner is just under 6 foot tall, so here’s your tall connection!

This lovely lady is a pleasure to talk to, and finding out about what she does was inspiring to me. You don’t have to own a huge chunk of the fashion marketplace to be successful, or to find your true calling in fashion and make a difference – which is what Eve does by focusing on making sure her products are sustainable. In our day and age of climate change, any effort to help our planet is an honourable mission. Eve goes an extra mile in putting sustainability in practice even in her own family who have all been bought in for the cause and love shopping at vintage and second hand shops.

Eve has been working exclusively in sustainable fashion since she graduated from University in 2021. Her customers have so far been UK based on account of limited outlets, which she is working on in the run up to Christmas. At present, she sells through her Etsy store, or ‘made to order/bespoke’ through her social media channels on Facebook and Instagram.

Eve Copper‘s first complete collection will officially launch next summer, in an online store and through a small local boutique. Needless to say, I’ll post about it when the moment comes!

The company sources only British wool from Z. Hinchcliff and Sons, an increasingly sustainable family business in Yorkshire with great ethics and clean processes, and Woollyknit for some extra colours.

In addition to the fab accessories, there is one product launched about a year ago that might appeal to tall female customers: the so called scarfigan.

It’s a versatile piece of clothing that can be worn as a scarf and a cardigan, and since it has no sleeves as such, is suitable for people of different height and sizes.

This is something that came from Eve’s final collection at university where she made a jumper that can be worn in loads of different ways. Last year, a friend asked her to make some accessories to sell in her shop for Christmas, so Eve thought she’d make a scarf version. As it turned out, it could be used to reconfigure in lots of different ways, so is a nice multiway piece.

The buttons are upcycled, sourced from places like second-hand and charity shops, so they are all hand picked, which makes each piece pretty unique. The scarf is made completely of British wool, so is completely biodegradable.

I love Eve’s dedication and passion about what she does, and am making a mental note to visit next time I am down to the South Coast. Do check out her website, and maybe follow her on Instagram or Facebook, for some fashion inspiration!
