About

I started this blog years ago, initially to scratch the need to express myself in writing, and since then it has been taking shape and coming into focus, to make it a blog with a difference. I have also become an author of a book as a result of the years of work I have done on the blog.

As a tall individual who has had struggles all my life and has learned to overcome the challenges life throws at me, I am on a mission to help others with their similar experiences, and support them in their journey by validating their feelings and showing them they are not alone in this.

My principle is that if it doesn’t kill you, it does make you stronger… but mostly it should make you laugh. My goal is to encourage my readers and followers to embrace differences and look at them through the prism of laughter, by changing their mindset. This is what my book is about, too, whether you are tall or not. It is a book for the Tall from the Tall, but also for those who feel different, from someone who has always felt different.

On this blog, and in my book, I offer you validation that what you feel and go through as too tall (or too “something”) others go through as well, so you are not alone in your struggles.

My mission, as a blogger and an author, is to inspire others to embrace their uniqueness and strive towards becoming the best version of themselves while navigating life’s challenges with humour, confidence, and resilience.

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog. You have an interesting site with different themes mixed together like rock music, being tall and being a parent. It is easy to lose sight of who we are when we are in the middle of taking care of children. Good idea to keep your writing going.

  5. I suppose a short male parent has complementary concerns to a tall mom. I will spare you the heartbreak of my daughter who, at 21, is not destined to grow beyond 5’1″ despite her efforts. A challenge for a hairstylist.

  6. Well, you went and done it. You went and followed Uncle Bardie’s Stories & Such. You are now one of Uncle Bardie’s Band of Merry Followers. Just so you know, Uncle Bardie’s a hoot, and he’s got quite a few whoppers in his bag of stories. Some funny, some not so funny. But all told for your entertainment. Thank you for following his blog.

  7. I love your intro here! Who wants to fit into a box anyways?! I say stand out from the crowd, don’t follow the norm and do the opposite of what are considered “proper” blog rules 🙂 I’m with you on that front my fellow poet. Happy to follow! ~T

  8. Hi, your blog seems very interesting and covers a lot of points on various perspectives which I like. However, my only request would be can you increase your font to size 14? I’m legally blind so sometimes I can’t see all of the information, just a thought. Keep on going strong and congrats on the 300 follower mark! 🙂

  9. Thank you for your kind words. I decided to replace the Koko Theme with one of my own pictures. It’s a freight boat near the High Level Bridge, on the Maumee River. And I like how you get right to the point on yours.

Even though I’m dead average in the height department (5’4-1/2″ – don’t forget to mention the 1/2″!!), I know we will have plenty in common… happy blogging!! Mother Hen

  12. Haha! I love the tall connection being tall myself. It’s a unique angle. There is a local short woman running for office in Indiana and she is promoting everything short. It’s funny and certainly memorable. She is extremely short!

  13. Dear notanothertallblog,

My name is Joyce and I work for ExpatFinder.com.
ExpatFinder.com is a free one stop website for people preparing to move or working and living overseas. We provide a myriad of services for expatriates and we have over 2,000 articles to help and support the people moving around the world and we are now creating an interview section to help the expats with real life experiences!
We quite enjoy your blog about living in United Kingdom, it is very interesting and informative. Would it be possible to interview you to further share some of your tips and feature some of your first hand experience as an Expat and your interview will be published on our Expat Interview section as a guide for our expat readers. The questions are mainly about the day to day lifestyle of an expat. If it would be possible, could you also send some photographs that we can use?
Of course, if you accept, we can add a link to your blog or some of your website.
The questions are enclosed, feel free to respond freely. You can return the doc with your answers if you accept this invitation.
Thanks in advance and do let me know if you prefer other means to conduct this interview and we would be happy to accommodate your terms.

    Best regards,
    Joyce
