Sales of handcrafted footwear from top brands in larger sizes are rising sharply, according to Walktall, a Europe-wide online shoe retailer specialising in sizes 12 to 19.

Walktall’s most popular quality brand is Barker, with sales from this Northamptonshire-based UK manufacturer increasing by a staggering 54% last year.

A significant number of customers who purchased Barker shoes also bought handcrafted boots by the Australian brand RM Williams, signalling a consistent preference for traditionally made footwear among those customers:
